This is one of the more brilliant uses of comedy in an ad, particularly because it fits well with the brand’s positioning statement: “We’re not from here”.

Aside from the suggestive Spanish name of the brand, the distinctly Mexican luchador gives viewers a sense of where the brand originates from. The essence of the “We’re not from here” theme can be seen in its totality through these two other spots.

While these ads may not necessarily drive purchases of Jarritos soft drinks, they will certainly help drive brand and product awareness.
